Essential THERMOREGULATING

Essential THERMOREGULATING

Combines all day comfort in a classic design with 100% cotton being against the skin. Best suited for patients with venous disorders, lymphoedema, phlebolymphoedema and open or healed leg ulcers.

For those with sensitive skin

Designed for anyone with sensitive skin, Essential THERMOREGULATING's fine cotton layer lies directly on the skin which creates a cooling effect called thermoregulating. The cotton absorbs excess moisture directly from the skin and stores it in the fibres. This prevents the development of a moisture layer on the skin which can promote the undesirable growth of bacteria.

Product benefits

100% cotton against the skin - gives the highest levels of comfort and breathability.

Sensitive skin - Suitable for sensitive skin and allergies due to the garments 14% cotton content and 100% of the cotton being against the skin.

Thermoregulating - Evaporation of moisture stored in the cotton, results in a cooling effect. The air in the spaces between the knitted fabric and the fibres form an insulating layer when there are cold temperatures.

How thermoregulating works

How the cotton is used within Essential THERMOREGULATING?

Essential THERMOREGULATING is made from a valuble extra long cotton fibres, making it a particularly fine and smooth yarn. The cotton used in the stocking is processed with the wrapping of the core thread on the inside of the stocking. This way, the cotton lies where it is supposed to be: on the skin of the person wearing the stocking.

The cotton showed here is not dyed, and is therefore clearly visible in the white colour.

Quick drying due to optimal cotton ratio

Essential THERMOREGULATING has an optimum cotton content of 14%, which lies directly on the skin and thus absorbs the skin's moisture. The remaining 86% if water-repellent functional fibres enabling quick evaporation of fluid from the knitted fabric, ensuring a comfortable skin climate.

Using a test designed to measure body transpiration, a Swiss Public Testing Institute has proven that the drying chracteristics of this stocking are optimized by this special combination of fibres. Due to its special fibre mix, Essential THERMOREGULATING dries much faster than some other compression stocking.

How having the optimal amount of cotton aids quick drying?

  1. Moisture Absorption
  2. Cooling effect
  3. Thermal isolation

1. Moisture absorption

The cotton absorbs excess moisture and sweat directly from the skin and stores it inside the fibres. This prevents developing a moisture film on the skin which promotes the growth of bacteria. This is beneficial to patients with sensitive skin.

Cotton as compared to synthetic fibres

3. Thermal insulation

The air in the spaces between the knitted fabric and the fibres forms an insulating layer at cold temperatures. This makes Essential THERMOREGULATING an ideal companion, even at cold temperature.

2. Cooling effect

The special composition of Essential THERMOREGULATING with 14% cotton leads to convective heat exchange. The rapid evaporation of the moisture stored in the cotton creates a faster evaporation effect and thus a cooling feeling on the leg. In contrast to comparable compression stockings which do not incorporate cotton, this continuously dissipates heat which leads to a consistent feeling of well-being, even at warm temperatures.
